This indenture made this eighth day of November in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six between John Harden of Chatham County North Carolina of the one part and Nicholas Harden of the said County and State of the other part Witnesseth the said John Hardin for … the sum of twenty five pounds in current money of North Carolina... unto the said Nicholas Harden … a parcel of land lying .. in the County of Chatham lying on Fall Creek the south side of Cape Fear River Beginning at a post oak & Wommacks corner on the county line running with said line ___ two hundred and six pole to a pine then north seventy eight pole to a black oak corner to his former entry of one hundred and fifty acres thence east two hundred and six pole with said line to a black oak on Wommacks line thence south seenty eight pole with said line to the first station the same being by estimation one hundred acres.  …

In witness wherof the said John Hardin and Sarah Hardin his wife hae hereunto set their hands and affix their seals the day and year above written.

This indenture made this eighth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six between John Harden of Chatham County North Carolina of the one part and Nicholas Harden of the same county and state of the other part witnesseth that the said John Harden for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five pound current money of North Carolina to him in hand hath … sold … unto the said Nicholas Harden … a parcel of land lying and in the said county of Chatham lying on the south side of Cape Fear River. Beginning to wit at a pine in Henry Braswells Line running south two hundred and forty seven pole to a post and thence east one hundred and thirth three pole to a post oak Wommacks corner thence north ninety seven pole with said line to a black oak thence __ fifty eight pole Wommacks line to a pine Joseph Allens corner thence north one hundred and fifty pole with said line to a pine Allens corner thence west seventy five pole to the first station the same being by estimation one hundred and fifty acres …
