This indenture made this 15th day of May, A.D. 1764 between Sterling Carroll of the County of Cumberland & Province of North Carolina of the one part and Gabriel Harden of the County & Province afsd. of the other part, Witnesseth, that the sd. Sterling Carroll for ... Fifty pounds Proc[lamation] money ... grant and confirm unto the sd. Gabriel harden ... a certain tract or parcel of land containing 80 acres, be the same more or less lying and being in the County of Cumberland and Province of North Carolina, Beginning at a Spanish oak at the Rocky Ford, thence along the patent? line to the Spring branch; thence down the sd. Branch to a corner tree; thence along a row of marked trees to a sugar tree on the River thence down the River to the first station... In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year above written.
